Working Dogs That Can Show -
Show Dogs That Can Work.......
............................................................................................................................................................................................

Hello and welcome to Von Issk's home on the web.  My name is Minta Roper and I live in Southern Oklahoma. I am located right at the foot of the Arbuckle Mountains. It is so beautiful here with the rolling hills, plenty of recreation areas for camping, swimming, cookouts, fishing, and boating. We also have a national park--Chickasaw National Recreation Area. We are located in the heart of the Chickasaw Nation, of which I am a very proud member of.

I have been involved with the German Shepherd Dog breed for 26 years. I started out in obedience and tracking and gradually moved into protection work. In the past I was an active member of the United Schutzhund Club of America, the GSDCA (German Shepherd Dog Club of America), and the Ft. Worth (TX) Personal Protection Club. I am now an active member of the GSDCA. Employmentwise I learned to groom dogs and also worked at vet clinics, boarding kennels, and for a couple of show breeders.  Anything that had to do with dogs, I have done most of it. I stuck around through thick and thin--I wanted to learn and I wanted to be around people with the same mindset as mine.

6 years ago I met Rebecca Kuchera of Marybeck's German Shepherds. By this time I knew what direction I wanted to go in dogdom. I liked her, her dogs, the lines she was working with, and I definately liked what she was producing. That was very important to me because she had done some of the exact same things I thought of and wondered how it would work out. Since them we have attended many shows together including 2 GSDCA National Specialties. She is my mentor, extended family, confidante, associate, and most importently my friend.

My goal for the breed is to make sure we have the solid as a rock dogs from the past now and in the future. I am not looking for extremes in my dogs but rather harmony. I call it the Golden Middle--it's the tough K9, service, sar, guide, family companion, babysitter or a true herding/farm dog. After a tough week they can also go to the weekend shows  and win because they are correct, sound, both mentally and physically and bred to the standard.

Our dogs are active, healthy and agile. Many of these lines have gone for SAR (search and rescue) and drug work. They are highly intelligent and self thinking dogs, something I personally feel has been lost in our breed. They can be very protective and one person.  With the right socialization and training our puppies are capable of going anywhere you want to take them.  My lines are built on top American show, German working and old DDR lines.

My puppies are born in the house and handled daily. They are well socialized to all household noises, other dogs and people and kid coming and going. When it is warm I start putting them outside.  When a puppy goes home, it is well on its way to being housebroken.

Puppies are priced very reasonable. Please contact me for prices. Each puppy goes home with AKC registration application, 4 generation pedigree, 1st shots, dewormed and copy of vet check.  Pets are sold with LIMITED registration and show/breeding quality  with guarantee and full registration.

Please feel free to contact me about future litters, shows, or just to talk GSDs in general.
